Fabrice deCola
MS, CSCS, CPT
Since 2006, when he opened Body Physics in Southbury, CT, Fabrice DeCola has been helping clients improve their physical well being. With more than 22 years of experience, Body Physics is a culmination of his lifelong pre-occupation with fitness.
With accomplishments beginning in college, Fabrice majored in Physical Education and earned national recognition as a collegiate, Greco-roman and Freestyle wrestler. He also excelled in running, tennis, golf and soccer, having been inspired by his father, who played professional soccer in Italy.
Anxious to own his own business, Fabrice decided to leave his successful career in business management to follow his passion for fitness. From that desire he created Body Physics, a unique personal training facility, which unlike traditional gyms focuses first on posture, balance and movement before building pure strength.
A certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist & level I Crossfit, Fabrice is also certified by: The National Federation of Personal Trainers; The National Academy of Sports Medicine; and The Aerobics and Fitness Association. In addition, he incorporates his training in Yoga, Pilates and Ti Chi into Body Physics’ programs. His knowledge and certification in The Egosque Method* provides him with the knowledge to deliver personally prescribed fitness programs that help clients, who otherwise are plagued by pain, to increase their flexibility and functionality, and live free of pain.
Believing in life-long learning, Fabrice continues to regularly attend workshops and seminars, always adding to his long list of certifications. In addition to learning, he also likes to share his knowledge. As such, he is professionally qualified to speak to schools and colleges at a national level, delivering presentations on fitness topics and techniques. He speaks locally, and coaches the Middlebury and Oxford soccer programs. He is also involved in fitness programs at the Heritage Village fitness center.
Feeling passionate about properly focused training and the benefits of fitness for everyone, Fabrice welcomes clients of all ages and fitness levels, from eight-year-old’s wanting to excel in sports, to 80 year-olds who are wanting to improve their flexibility and stamina. Many clients are referred to Fabrice and Body Physics by physical therapists, because they can help clients who are recovering from surgery or injuries to surpass their rehabilitation capabilities. To ensure that all Body Physics clients obtain a consistent level of training and results in all areas, including strength, flexibility, core strength, balance, body toning and sports performance, Fabrice is as adamant about the level and quality of his trainers’ education as he is with his own.
* The Egosque Method. The goal of the method is to eliminate disparities that can occur when injuries or negative lifestyle conditions affect the way the musculoskeletal system actually moves as opposed to its underlying structural parameters. By restoring muscular balance, skeletal alignment and the harmonious interplay of internal systems, the body takes a quantum leap in healing power, stamina and physical capability.
Brian Fenn
NASM, PES, CPT
Since his freshman year of high school, when his father introduced him to a workout program, Brian Fenn has been passionate about exercise. Not only did he enjoy his early workouts, he found the results helped him excel in high school and college sports like baseball, running track and cross country. His success inspired his friends, and sharing what he learned, he began helping others to reach their own fitness goals. Brian quickly realized he had found his vocation.
Today, Brian is a Certified Personal Trainer. He also holds a certification in Performance Enhancement Specialization from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Performance Enhancement Specialization is a rigorous certification program that has become the preferred credential for coaching professional athletes and teams. Because Brian believes in continuous education, he frequently attends seminars and workshops, especially when they are offered by the top names in the fitness industry.
Brain has trained clients of all ages, from high school athletes to the “senior” set, even those with physical limitations. What he loves most is helping his clients to transform their lives through fitness. With a special talent for identifying and correcting weaknesses and muscle imbalances in his clients, he has seen his clients achieve and regain strength and wellness, and even improve their golf games!
An avid athlete, Brian understands firsthand the importance of physical conditioning. One of his favorite fitness books is, “Power to the People! Russian Strength Training Secrets for Every American”, by Pavel Tsatsouline.
When he’s not training others, you can find him body board surfing on the beaches of Rhode Island. When it comes to catching a movie for relaxation, “Gangs of New York” is a favorite, and his favorite sports teams are: the Boston Red Sox and the New York Jets.
Linda Fandel
AFAA, CPT
Linda Fandel understands firsthand how challenging it is to keep your weight and fitness at a healthy level when you are a busy mom. She knows because after the birth of her third child, her weight became an issue and she knew she had to do something. She began working with a personal trainer and discovered the rewards of looking and feeling better. That’s when a passion for fitness entered her life.
For the passed 10 years, as a Certified Personal Trainer and with a certification from the Aerobic Fitness Association of America, Linda has been helping people of all ages discover the rewards of core strength, slimming and toning, and increasing bone density. “I love my job, and I am excited to go to work everyday” says Linda.
Like all Body Physics trainers, Linda customizes programs to each client. She helps her clients set and realize weight and fitness goals through exercise programs and nutrition guidance, which often include great ideas for healthy eating. Her favorite fitness books are the “Eat Clean” by Tosca Reno and “Eat This Not That”, by David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding.
In addition to working with individual clients, Linda facilitates the spinning class at Body Physics, three days a week. Her training specialties also include: Yoga, Kick Boxing, Pilates and Fitness for seniors.
Even when not working, Linda is avid about fitness and enjoys running, spinning, and tennis. She’s a UConn fan, having sent two of her three children there; and she loves the Yankees and the Jets. When she does relax, her preference is being on the family’s boat, and if she takes in a movie, she prefers likes comedies and romances, like “Letters to Juliet”.
